BQ2007PN

The bq2007s is a device of highly integrated monolithic CMOS IC designed to offer intelligent battery charging and charge status monitoring for standalone charge systems.The bq2007s offers a wide range of charge status display formats. The bq2007s internal charge status monitor supports can reach a seven-segment bargraph or a single BCD digit display which can reach seven monotonic steps, whereas the BCD digit counts in ten steps of 10% increments. The bq2007s output drivers can direct-drive either an LCD or LED display. Charge action begins either by application of the charging supply or by replacement of the battery pack.  Charging is inhibited until battery temperature and voltage are within configured limits to ensure safty.

The bq2007s has the following features:(1)fast charging and conditioning of NiCd and NiMH batteries:Precise chargin g independent of battery pack number of cells,discharge-before-charge on demand,pulse trickle charge conditioni ng,battery undervoltage and overvoltage protection;(2)built-in 10-step voltage-based charge status monitorin g:charge status display options include seven-segment monotonic bargraph and fully decoded BCD digit;(3)display interface options for direct drive of LCD or LED segments,charger state status indicators for pending, dischar ge, ch arge, completion,and fault;audible alarm for charge completion and fault conditions;(4)charge control flexibility:fast or Standard speed charging,top-off mode for NiMH.

BQ2007PN also has some outstanding absolute maximum ratings and recommended DC operating conditions.absolute maxim um ratings:(1):VCC relative to VSS is -0.3 V min and+7.0 V max;(2):DC voltage applied on any pin excluding VCC rel ative to VSS is -0.3 V min and +7.0 V max;(3):operating ambient temperature is 0°C min to +70 °C max (Com mercial);(4):storage temperature is -40°C min and  +85 °C;(5):soldering temperature is +260. Crecommended DC operating conditions:(1):Supply voltage is 4.5 V min,5.0 V typ and 5.5 V max;(2):voltage on BAT pin is 0 V min and VCC V max;(3):voltage on TS pin is 0 V min and VCC V max(thermistor input);(4):temperature cutoff on TCO is 0 V min and 0.5 * VCC V max;(5):battery voltage potential is 0 V min and VCC V(VBAT - VSNS);(6):voltage potential on TS is 0 V min and VCC V(VTS - VSNS):(7):logic input high is 2.0 V min(DCMD, FAST, VSEL, INH);(8)tri-level input high is VCC - 0.3 V (TM).
