The BAT140 series is designed as schottky barrier double diodes encapsulated in a SOT223 plastic SMD package. Its typical applications include low power switched-mode power supplies, rectification and polarity protection.
BAT140 has five features. The first one is it would have low switching losses. The second one is capability of absorbing very high surge current. The third one is it has fast recovery time. The fourth one is guard ring protected. The fifth one is plastic SMD package. That are all the main features.
Some limiting values have been concluded into several points as follow. The first one is about its continuous reverse voltage which would be max 40V. The second one is about its continuous forward current which would be max 1A. The third one is about its average forward current which would be max 1A. The fourth one is about its non-repetitive peak forward current which would be max 10A. The fifth one is about its non-repetitive peak reverse current which would be max 0.5A. The sixth one is about its storage temperature which would be from -65 to +150°C. The seventh one is about its junction temperature which would be max 125°C. The eighth one is about its thermal resistance from junction to ambient which would be 100K/W. It should be noted that limiting values given are in accordance with the Absolute Maximum Rating System (IEC 134). Stress above one or more of the limiting values may cause permanent damage to BAT140.
Also some electrical characteristics about BAT140. The first one is about its forward voltage which would be typ 280mV and max 330mV at If=100mA and typ 460mV and max 500mV at If=1A. The second one is about its reverse current which would be typ 15uA and max 40uA Vr=10V and would be typ 60uA and max 300uA at Vr=40V. The third one is about its diode capacitance which would be typ 65pF and max 80pF with condition of f=1MHz and Vr=4V. And so on. For more information please contact us.
