Am2055 is a kind of extended PCM interface controller (EPIC).There are some features as follows.First is board controller for up to 32 ISDN or 64 voice subscribers.The second is nonblocking switch for 128 channels (16, 32, or 64 kbps bandwidth).Besides, two consecutive 64 kbps channel can be switched as a single 128 kbps channel.Then is timeslot assignment freely programmable for all connected subcribers.Next is two serial interface (PCM and configurable).The sixth is programmable for a wide range of data rates (8 to 8192 kbps).The seventh is PCM interface and configurable interface.The eighth is handling of layer 1 functions.The ninth is comfortable P access to two selected channels.The tenth is 40 pin dual in line or 44 pin PLCC package.The last one is advanced low power CMOS technology.
