The ATTINY24-20SSU is designed as a low-power CMOS 8-bit microcontroller based on the AVR enhanced RISC architecture. By executing powerful instructions in a single clock cycle, it achieves throughputs approaching 1 MIPS per MHz allowing the system designer to optimize power consumption versus processing speed.
ATTINY24-20SSU has ten features. (1)High performance, low power AVR 8-bit microcontroller. (2)Advanced RISC architecture which means 120 powerful instructions most single clock cycle execution and 32x8 general purpose working registers and fully static operation. (3)Non-volatile program and data memories. (4)Peripheral features which means two timer/counters, 8- and 16-bit counters with two PWM channels on both and 10-bit ADC and programmable watchdog timer with separate on-chip oscillator and on-chip analog comparator and universal serial interface. (5)Special microcontroller features debugWIRE on-chip debug system, in-system programmable via SPI port, external and internal interrupt sources, pin change interrupt on 12 pins and so on. (6)I/O and packages 14-pin SOIC, PDIP and 20-pin QFN/MLF: twelve programmable I/O lines. (7)Operating voltage would be 1.8V to 5.5V. (8)Speed grade would be 0 to 10MHz at 2.7V to 5.5V and 0 to 20MHz at 4.5V to 5.5V. (9)Industrial temperature range. (10)Low power consumption which means active mode would be 1MHz 1.8V:380uA and power down mode would be 1.8V: 100nA. Those are all the main features.
The ATTINY24-20SSU AVR core combines a rich instruction set with 32 general purpose working registers. All the 32 registers are directly connected to the arithmetic logic unit (ALU), allowing two independent registers to be accessed in one single instruction executed in one clock cycle. The resulting architecture is more code efficient while achieving throughputs up to ten times faster than conventional CISC microcontrollers. And so on.
