Description

The ADN8830ACPZ is designed as a monolithic controller that drives a thermoelectric cooler (TEC) to stabilize the temperature of a laser diode or a passive component used in telecommunications equipment. ADN8830ACPZ relies on a negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistor to sense the temperature of the object attached to the TEC. The target temperature is set with an analog input voltage either from a DAC or an external resistor divider.

ADN8830ACPZ has eleven features. (1)High efficiency. (2)Small size: 5mmx5mm LFCSP. (3)Low noise: <0.5% TEC current ripple. (4)Long-term temperature stability: +/-0.01°C. (5)Temperature lock indication. (6)Temperature monitoring output. (7)Oscillator synchronization with an external signal. (8)Clock phase adjustment for multiple controllers. (9)Programmable switching frequency up to 1MHz. (10)Thermistor failure alarm. (11)Maximum TEC voltage programmability. Those are all the main features.
