The AD16312 is a VFD controller/driver that is driven on a 1/5 to 1/12 duty factor. It consists of 5 segment output lines 6 segment scan output lines, 6grid output lines, 5segment output drive lines, a display memory, a control circuit, and a key scan circuit. Serial data id input to the AD16312 through a four-line serial interface. The feature of AD16312 are as follows: (1)4-pin serial interface; (2)key scanning(6*4 matrices); (3)programming display modes(11-digit & 11-segment to 16-digit & 4-segment); (4)programming dimming step; (5)high-voltage output(VDD-35V max); (6)LED ports(4 channels, 20mA max); (7)4-pin general-purpose input port; (8)built in oscillator; (9)no external resistor necessary for driver outputs.

The absolute maximum ratings of the AD16312 are: (1)logic supply voltage: -0.5 to +7.0V; (2)driver supply voltage: VDD +0.5 to VDD -40V; (3)logic input voltage: -0.5 to VDD +0.5V; (4)VFD driver output voltage: VEE -0.5 to VDD +0.5V; (5)LED driver output current: +25mA; (6)VFD driver output current: -40(grid) mA and  -15(segment)mA; (7)operating ambient temperature: 0 to 85; (8)storage temperature: -20 to +125.
