The 82261 is designed as CMOS multi function LSI peripheral.

82261 has many features. The first one is CMOS multi function peripheral combining four components into single chip which include 82C84A, 82C59A, 82C53 and 82C55A. The next one is same functions and complete compatibility and complete compatibily with discrete NMOS components. The next one is it offers optimal board spece savings. The next one is 80C86/C88 and 8086/88 compatible. The next one is it would have 8MHz operation. The next one is it would have 100-pin gull-wing flat-package.
