Description

The 60W-1E10 of mercury relays is designed as free of contact chattering since their mercury-covered contacts facilitate opening and closing. In addition, they offer unfailing contact performance from the lightest amperage requiements (A) to the heaviest (50 VA). Their virtually unlimited life (10E9 cycles, mechanical) of 60W-1E10 makes them ideal for applications where reliability is of critical concern, such as in computer devices and automated equipment.
Some important electrical specifications and absolute maximum ratings of 60W-1E10 have been concluded into several points as follow. The first one is about its switching voltage which would be 500 V.The second one is about its switching current which would be 1.0A.The third one is about its carry current which would be 2.0A.The fourth one is about its contact rating which would be 50W.The fifth one is about its life expectancy which would be 10E9 cycles with test condition of 1V, 10mA.The sixth one is about its contact resistance which would be 80m.The seventh one is about its contact resistance stability which would be 5.0m.The eighth one is about its insulation resistance which would be 10E10 with test consition of between all isolated pins at 500V, 20°C, 40%RH.The next one is about its dielectric strength which would be 1000Vdc with test condition of between contactsto coil. The next one is about its operating time which would be 2.0msec.The next one is about its release time which would be 2.0msec with condition of diode suppression.
Something should be noted that values of 60W-1E10 are specified with a resistive load being applied. A contact protective circuit is required for C and L type load. And the value for the operating time and release time however, are when the rated coil voltage is applied and a clamp diode is attached. The 60W and series models have Hg wet contacts, are position sensitive, and must be mounted with 30° of the vertical plane. The relays mounted in the model 60W and fully observe the (+) and (-) polarity designations of the coil drive voltage.
