36D series

      The 36D series,which contains the 36D,the 36DE,and the 36DX,is designed as the capacitors.They are made of aluminum,looks in a large can.
      They have five feature all together.The first one is that it has a high capacitance per case size.The second one is it has a high ripple current.The third one is that it has a low leakage current.The fourth one is that it has a long shelf life and operating life.The fifth one is that the type 36D ratings recommended for replacement applications only.For new designs, see type 36DY.
      Some important quick reference data have been given as the follow.The first one is about its nominal case size Ø D x L in inches (mm) which would be 1.453 x 2.250 (36.9 x 57.2) to 3.078 x 8.750 (78.2 x 222.3).The second one is about its operating temperature which would be - 40 °C to + 85 °C for 36DX and - 40 °C to + 95 °C for 36DE.The third one is about its rated capacitance range(CR) which would be 190 F to 50 000 F.The fourth one is about its tolerance on CR which would be + 75 %, - 10 % (10 WVDC to 100 WVDC) and + 50 %, - 10 % (200 WVDC to 450 WVDC).The fifth one is about its rated voltage range(UR) which should be 10 WVDC to 450 WVDC.The sixth one is about its life validation test at 85 °C which would be 1000 h with CAP ± 15 % from initial measurement and ESR 1.5 x initial specified limit.
      There are two notes about the 36D series which should have attention for the user.The first one is that to ensure delivery of lead (Pb)-free RoHS compliant parts during the transition period please contact your Vishay Sales office.Then the second one is that Pb containing terminations are not RoHS compliant, exemptions may apply.
