      The 29-xxxx-310 can be used in very long distance CATV trunks and very high node-count distribution, reduced pump-count EDFA architectures and next-generation, dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs)requiring the highest power with"locked" wavelength emission.
      The JDSU 29-xxxx-310 980 nm pump module utilizes a planar construction with chip on subcarrier. The high power JDSU laser chip is hermetically sealed in a low-profile, epoxy- and flux-free 14-pin butterfly package and fitted with a thermistor, thermoelectric cooler, and monitor diode. This product uses a polarization maintaining fiber (PMF) pigtail that allows excellent side mode supression ratios (SMSR) over a very wide dynamic range. Top(Operating case temperature)=-5 °C to 75 °C, Tstg(Storage temperature, 2000hours)=-40 °C to 85 °C, TLD(Laser operating temperature)=0 °C to 50 °C, If_max(LD forward current, 48 hours maximum)=to 1100 mA, Vpd(PD reverse voltage)= to20V, Ipf(PD forward current)= to 10 mA, VESD(Electrostatic discharge (ESD), C = 100 pF, R = 1.5 , human body model)= to 1000 V, IC(Cooler current)= to4A, VC(TEC voltage)=to 4.5 V, Axial pull force at 3 x 10 seconds= to 5 N, RH(Relative humidity, Non condensing)=5% to 95%, Lead soldering time=10s(260 °C). Each 29-xxxx-310 device is rated to a maximum kink-free current (Imax), provided on the individual datasheet. This is the maximum current under which the device will perform itsintended function. which should be paid attention to is that operationabove Imax, and up to the absolute maximum rating, may result in poor device performance, and degrade device reliability. Long-termoperation above Imax may lead to early device failure.
