The 243NQ100R is designed as one kind of schottky rectifiers with current of 240A. The 243NQ100R high current schottky rectifier module has been optimized for low reverse leakage at high temperature. The proprietary barrier technology allows for reliable operation up to 175°C junction temperature. Typical applications are in switching power supplies, converters, freewheeling diodes, and reverse battery protection.
243NQ100R has ten features. (1)175°C Tj operation. (2)Unique high power, HALF-PAK module. (3)Replaces four parallel DO-5's. (4)Easier to mount and lower profile than DO-5's. (5)High purity, high temperature epoxy encapsulation for enhanced mechanical strength and moisture resistance. (6)Low forward voltage drop. (7)High frequency operation. (8)Guard ring for enhanced ruggedness and long term reliability. (9)Compliant to RoHS directive 2002/95/EC. (10)Designed and qualified for industrial level. Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of 243NQ100R have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its maximum DC reverse voltage would be 100V. (2)Its maximum working peak reverse voltage would be 100V. (3)Its maximum average forward current see fig. 5 would be 240A. (4)Its maximum peak one cycle non-repetitive surge current see fig. 7 would be 25500A with the condition of 5s sine or 3s rect. pulse and would be 3300A with the condition of 10ms sine or 6ms rect. pulse. (5)Its non-repetitive avalanche energy would be 15mJ. (6)Its repetitive avalanche current would be 1A. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
Also some electrical characteristics of 243NQ100R are concluded as follow. (1)Its maximum reverse leakage current see fig. 2 would be 6mA at Tj=25°C and would be 80mA at Tj=125°C.
