The 242NQ030R is designed as one kind of schottky rectifiers with current of 240A. The 242NQ030R high current schottky rectifier module has been optimized for very low forward voltage drop, with moderate leakage. The proprietary barrier technology allows for reliable operation up to 150°C junction temperature. Typical applications of 242NQ030R are in switching power supplies, converters, freewheeling diodes, and reverse battery protection.
242NQ030R has nine features. (1)150°C Tj operation. (2)Unique high power, HALF-PAK module. (3)Replaces four parallel DO-5's. (4)Easier to mount and lower profile than DO-5's. (5)High purity, high temperature epoxy encapsulation for enhanced mechanical strength and moisture resistance. (6)Very low forward voltage drop. (7)High frequency operation. (8)Guard ring for enhanced ruggedness and long term reliability. (9)Compliant to RoHS directive 2002/95/EC. Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of 242NQ030R have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its maximum DC reverse voltage would be 30V. (2)Its maximum working peak reverse voltage would be 30V. (3)Its maximum average forward current would be 240A. (4)Its maximum peak one cycle non-repetitive surge current would be 27000A with the condition of 5s sine or 3s rect. pulse and would be 3000A with the condition of 10ms sine or 6ms rect. pulse. (5)Its non-repetitive avalanche energy would be 216mJ. (6)Its repetitive avalanche current would be 48A. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
Also some electrical characteristics of 242NQ030R are concluded as follow. (1)Its maximum reverse leakage current see fig. 2 would be 20mA at Tj=25°C and would be 1120mA at Tj=125°C. (2)Its maximum junction capacitance would be 14800pF. (3)Its typical series inductance would be 5.0nH.
