The 1N5367B is designed as one member of the 1N5333B through 1N5388B series. This is a complete series of 5 watt zener diodes with tight limits and better operating characteristics that reflect the superior capabilities of silicon-oxide-passivated junctions. All this is in an axial-lead, transfer-molded plastic package that offers protection in all common environmental conditions.
The two features of the 1N5367B are: (1) Up to 180 watt surge rating at 8.3 ms. (2) Maximum limits guaranteed on seven electrical parameters. That are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into several points of the 1N5367B as follow. (1) Its DC power dissipation at Tl=75°C would be 5W. (2) Its lead length = 3/8' derate above 75°C would be 40mW/°C. (3) Its junction temperature range would be from -65°C to +200°C. (4) Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to +200°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
And some electrical characteristics about the 1N5367B are: (1) Its nominal zener voltage at Izt would be 43V. Test conditions for zener voltage and impedance are as follows: Iz is applied 40 ± 10 ms prior to reading. Mounting contacts are located 3/8' to 1/2' from the inside edge of mounting clips to the body of the diode. (Ta = 25°C +8, -2°C). (2) Its test current Izt would be 30mA. (3) Its max zener impedance Zzt at Izt would be 20 ohms and Zzk at Izk=1mA would be 190 ohms. (4) Its max reverse leakage current would be 0.5uA at Vr = 32.7V. (5) Its max surge current would be 2.8A. Surge current is specified as the maximum allowable peak, non-recurrent square-wave current with a pulse width, PW, of 8.3 ms. The data may be used to find the maximum surge current for a square wave of any pulse width between 1ms and 1000 ms by plotting the applicable points on logarithmic paper. (6) Its max voltage regulation would be 0.7V. (7) Its maximum regulator would be 110mA. And so on.
