The first operational amplifier,IC1-a,is an inverthing amplifier whose gain can be adjusted up to 5.Adjustable feedback resistor R2 sets the circuit gain. The second amplifier,IC1-b,forms a half-wave rectifier and the signal averager clips the brief peaks and displays them over a longer period of time.
