Uses opamp to reduce input voltage at which transfer curve of diode detector becomes nonlinear by factor equal to open-loop gain of opamp. Chief drawback is that delay for positive input signals, which are inverted and amplified 2 times, is twice that for composite signals. Be-VTVM cause of delay difference, signals do not subtract in phase and high-frequency performance suffers. Values shown are for test purposes, with low-pass active filter having 2-kHzcutoff.-H.
