Combination of two-stage preamp and 47-inch telescoping antenna gives overall gain of over 30 dB from 160 to 10 meters, for use with communication and SWL receivers when frequent travel precludes erection of fixed antennas. Use type F, BNC, or SO-239 antenna connector. Tuning coil has 20 taps on 150 turns of No. 28 enamel wire wound on 1/2-inch dowel, with taps at 3, 7, 12, 18, and 25 turns and then about every 10 or 11 turns.
