This circuit covers the range from ±1.5 pA to ±500 μA. Higher current ranges are possible with suitable switching techniques and scaling resistors. The 1-MΩ input resistor provides input-transient protection. Higher current ranges require that this resistor be reduced. The 10-MΩ resistor at pin 2 decouples possible high input capacitance, and reduces the tendency for the circuit to oscillate.
