Additional transistor Q3 reduces charging time of timing capacitor, thereby increasing duty cycle. With values shown, circuit provides 10-microsec pulses with recovery time of 0.25 microsec, corresponding to repetition rate of almost 100,000 pps and 97.5% duty cycle.-W.A.
