Used to measure noise floor of receiver under test. RF source is simple, well-shielded crystal-controlled oscillator that is decoupled from battery supply. After attenuator resistors are adjusted to provide about S7 signal in receiver, oscillator housing is sealed with solder. Once calibrated, RF source is comparable to commercial signal generator, as leakage is quite low. Output is.-112 dBm at 14 MHz.
