Costs 5 to 7 times less than toner regulator having same power rating. Can be set at precise voltage value required, whereas zener has 5 or 10% tolerance. Uses IN462 silicon diode for reference. Total cost (in quantity) is less than two dollars. Thermistor makes circuit perform from -55 to 71°C. Input voltage source is sea-water-activated batttery.-M. E.
