Precision analog tachometer using an MC14538B. The MC14538B operates as a monostable multivibrator with an output pulse of 6 ms. This pulse drives the transistor which in turn drives the meter. Full-scale calibration should be made at 167 hertz, which corresponds to 10,020 RPM (courtesy Motorola Semiconductor Products Inc.).
