Terminal connections of National LM3909 flasher IC give choice of three different flash rates for LED used as indicator in battery portable equipment. Extemal resistors provide additional adjustments of flash rate. Appropriate connections to pins 1 and 8 make flash-controlling internal resistance 3K, 6K or 9K Flasher operates at any supply voltage above 2 V, with low duty cycle to give long battery life.-P.
