Simple two-transistor flasher circuit for annunciator system is activated by alarm. Operator acknowledges alarm condition by depressing SA, which changes lamp from flashing to steady ON condition. 6-V incandescent lamp draws about 0.3 A through Q2, but 1K load resistor for Q1 limits current of this transistor to about 6 mA so smaller transistor can be used.-T. Stehney, Flasher Design Cuts Extra Components, EDN Magazine, Sept. 20, 1978, p 144.
