Figure 3-5 shows the MAX1480A/B connected in a typical RS-485/RS422 network. Figures 3-6 and 3-7 show the layout schematic and PC layout. To minimize reflections, terminate the line at both ends with its characteristic impedance, and keep the stub lengths off the main line as short as possible.
