Flying-spot closed-circuit tv system compares two photographs and displays only differences between them, for automatic identification of variable stars. Both photo-multiplier signals are coupled to subtraction tube V1A. Difference signal is fed by cathode follower to video amplifier of 14-inch tv monitor.-J.
