Preamplification combined with dipping or compression gives higher average level and increased intelligibility of SSB communication. Degree of compression is controlled with 100K pot that adjusts input. Output of transistor feeds passive diode compressor.Amount of compression will vary with diode type, and experimentation is suggested. Article covers construction and adjustment of circuit.-B.
