If solar-cell voltage drops 0.2 V below battery voltage, circuit is powered by storage cell feeding through forward-biased 0A90 or equivalent germanium diode. When solar-cell voltage exceeds that of battery, battery is charged by approximately constant reverse leakage current through diode.
