Analog Devices 433 multiplier/divider IC approximates cosine of angle to better than 1%, by computing nonintegral exponents. 0nly one opamp is needed. Approximation uses arbitrary exponent as one term of cosineθplus a linear term and a constant term, as described in article.-D. H.
