Figure 9-28 shows the internal functions of a multiplying DAC. Because Such four-quadrant DACs allow a digital word to operate on an analog input, or vice versa, the output can represent a sophisticated function. CMOS multiplying DACs allow true bipolar analog signals to be applied to the reference input.
