Uses low-pass filter to remove noise sometimes heard with weak passages during stereo reception of FM stations. FET driven by output of amplifier or tuner is used to switch low-pass filter into operation rather than switching over to mono. Based on fact that the hiss is an antiphase effect that can be removed with little detriment to overall signal.-G. Hibbert, Stereo Noise Limiter Improvement, Wireless World, March 1976, p 62.
