Smaller capacitance of temperature-compensated reference diodes allows clamping of faster pulses than is possible with ordinary zeners. Diagram shows positive 6.4-V diode clamp at ground potential. For smaller zener voltages, connect diode to more negative potential. Device Iimits only positive peaks; for negative peaks, reverse connections to 1N4570A.
