External resistances normally used with Motorola MC1552 video amplifier are replaced by 1N914 or equivalent diode so gain of amplifier is de-termined by AGO current through diode. Arrangement gives wide range of gain control, but lowest obtainable level of gain is normal unmodified gain off amplifier.
