Figure 9-7 shows the ADC0816/17 used with a buffered reference. This method of buffering the reference provides higher current capabilities than the circuit of Fig. 9-6, and eliminates the IP term in the equation for resistor R. NATIONAL SEMICONDUCTOR, APPLICATION NOTE 258, 1994, P. 594.
