Transistoral is synchronously biased on by AC input voltage to give efficient low-voltage regulation. When points A and C are positive with respect to points B and D, base-emitter junction of Q1 is forward-biased and collector current flows through load RL. On negative alternations,Q1 is reverse-biased and transistor is blocked.-B. C.
