This circuit uses one section of an LM3900 to form a line-receiver amplifier. The use of both inputs cancels out any common-mode signals. The line is terminated by RLINE and the large input impedance of the amplifier does not affect this matched loading. National Semiconductor Linear Applications Handbook 1991 p 221
