Used between cartridge and preamp of each stereo channel to make comparison testing of phonograph preamps more nearly independent of cartridge and cable capacitances. Buffer terminates cartridge in 47K in parallel with 01. Buffer can then serve as sonic reference for comparison with preamps for which input impedance is un known.
