This circuit is capable of 90 W into a 4-Ω speaker, or 70 W into an 8-Ω speaker. The circuit features safe area, short-circuit and overload protection, harmonic distortion less than 0.1% at 1.0 kHz, and an all-npn output stage. Figures 1-42B through 1-42E show the circuit performance characteristics.
