This company has released the new chip LED with blue surface and low cost. This new chip uses the 0402 style package which is the smallest package all over the world. The Kingbright’s 0402 range is complemented with the new blue chip LED. Orange, yellow, green and super-bright red indicators are contained in the Kingbright’s 0402 range. The light output of the indicators is 140 mcd at 20 mA. in the traditional blue SMD devices’ application, the luxurious blue indicator is offered by the GaN LED chip.
The thickness of the chip is measure 0.5mm. a water-clear lens with viewing angle of 120 degrees is the future of this new product which is suitable for application. This application has wide range, including the backlighting and indication in lightweight, portable instrumentation and telecommunication devices. Apart from the GaN blue type, the LEDs with the Kingbright’s 0402 package also can be used in the full spectrum of colour (430 to 700 nm) and brightness (All-nGaP to InGaN technology). The LEDs also have so many characteristics, such as the power dissipation from 75 to 170 mW, DC forward current of 30 mA peak forward current from 150 to 195 mA, 5V reverse voltage and the operating temperature range from -40 to +85 degrees C.
