Manufacturers in the electronic industry shear the employees frequently in recent years. The high-tech talents have run into a dilemma. HP, the world’s largest PC manufacturer, has declaimed to cut down 27 thousand of its staff. Renesas Electronics and Black berry plan to cut down 10 thousand and 7 thousand of their employees respectively. Panasonic will also dismiss 3500 employees, accounting 50% of the total.
The serious redundancy shows the general crisis of the electronic industry, so the reformation can not be avoided.
Take Panasonic for instance, it has released different kinds of measures since the economic crisis. It integrates the Panasonic wiring and Sanyo appliance together, and it also suspends the plasma products which do not have market prospect. Currently, Panasonic also cut down the employees. All its measures have laid the groundwork for further transition. Panasonic is transferring from the integrative appliance to the environmental energy field. The replacement of staff enables to absorb new talents.
The Japanese electronical industry has a complete collapse due to many reasons, such as the appreciation of YEN, high corporation duty, high cost of the labor force and low execution.
Renesas Electronics plans to cut down 10 thousand of its employees, which means the industry is entering the cycle of depression. The depression of American manufacturing and the debt crisis in Europe mean the world’s economic position is not optimistic. The upstream semiconductor industry must be influenced by the economic position. What is more, the technology evolution is very fast in the semiconductor industry. With the growing difficulties of research and investment on the semiconductor industry, the demand for company’s financial strength and ability to take risk must be higher. If the company can not stand these pressures, it will be easily eliminated.
