In order to show an LTE user system and eNodeB PHY with real-time downlink and uplink traffic, Tensilica has cooperated with German mobile software firm mimoOn. The software programmable radio demo is built on Tensilica’s Atlas LTE reference platform implementing the ConnX BBE16 digital signal processor and Tensilica Dataplane Processors.
The products will be demonstrated at February 27-March 1, in Barcelona. MimoOn’s mi!MobilePHY software will be used for LTE handsets and LTE handsets and their LTE intermediate Library. MimoOn can test the complete LTE software solution and prove that Tensilica’s hardware has sufficient processing capability to handle all of the requirements of this demanding application. What is more, mimoOn can further Tensilica’s cores to offer and even smaller power with three years’ cooperation with Tensilica. The well-tuned hardware and software enable the customers to develop their programmable LTE modems quickly.
Information about the mimoOn: Germany-based mimoOn develops and licenses LTE software IP for mobile devices & wireless infrastructure. Physical Layer and Protocol Stack for mobile terminals, small cells and IP development in the areas of advanced PHY algorithms on multi-core SDR platforms, SON, schedulers and radio resource management are the products of mimoOn.
Information about the Tensilica: The former employees of several other Silicon Valley processor and EDA companies form the Tensilica in the year of 1997. It is a privately held corporation. It is headquartered in Santa Clara, California. It is famous for its customizable microprocessor cores and the Xtensa configurable processor. Other products include standard controllers, audio/video coding software libraries for Tensilica processor cores, and standalone hardware cores for audio/video codecs, such as MPEG audio/video.
