Based in Oberhaching, EnOcean is a German wireless, energy harvesting technology used primarily in building automation systems. EnOcean GmbH is specialized in offering its technology and licenses for the patented features under license within the EnOcean Alliance framework. The batteryless sensors and switches can be used for the building automation with this concept.
The third generation of its finger-push-powered building automation transmitters has been released by EnOcean. The ECO 200 electromechanical generator and the PTM 330 transmitter PCB make up the product. These two components are shaped to make electrical connections through spring contacts without soldering.
This complete ready-to-go system allows the OEMs to implement their switching solutions with their mechanical expertise. As with its earlier products, the generator works when magnetic flux is suddenly reversed through a coil as a spring mechanism snaps-over. With the company’s power conditioning circuit, the 29.3x19.5x7.0mm generator produces 120-160 μJ at 2V from 1.2mm of movement with a force of 2.9-3.9N. Pushing a bank card into a reading slow can offer this force.
According to the state of the inputs at the time of actuation, the transmitter can send different codes with four digital inputs. Moreover, the configuration of the content of the wireless telegram is available with an interface. Wireless range is up to 30m inside buildings and 300m in the open, with versions for both 868MHz and 315MHz. It owns a unique 32bit identification number as well as every EnOcean wireless module. It also can be used to control gates and garages; window and door sensors; position switches; and industrial switches.
