Microsemi Introduces the New Version of IDE

Headquarted in Irvine, Calif, Microsemi is a supplier of semiconductor solutions differentiated by power, security, reliability, and performance. Products include high-performance, high-reliability analog and RF devices, mixed-signal and RF integrated circuits, customizable system-on-chip (cSoC) solutions, Power over Ethernet ICs and midspans, and complete subsystems. The target applications of its products are in aerospace, defense and security; enterprise and commercial; and industrial and alternative energy markets.

The Libero SoC v10.0, which is the new version of its Libero integrated design environment (IDE) for its SmartFusion FPGA-based devices, is introduced by Microsemi. The IDE also supports Microsemi’s IGLOO, ProASIC3 and Fusion product families. Just like Microsemi’s eclipse-based SoftConsole embedded software development environment, it supports integration with software IDEs from Keil and IAR. Libero SoC v10.0 also provides support for soft processors embedded in Microsemi FPGAs.

The Libero SoC v10.0 is also improved to reduce design cycle times. A push button capability allows single touch operation through the entire design flow process, from synthesis to programming a connected target device. The supplier’s SmartDesign graphical block-level platform now supports drag and drop configuration of peripherals and auto-connection of bus-based IP. This new version continue to have the capability and features in previous ones, such as SmartPower, SmartTime and the multi-view navigator.
