Recently, Tektronix has launched its highest specification handheld oscilloscope with a maxium bandwidth of 200MHz and 5GS/s sample rate. As four-channel oscilloscopes in the THS3000, they range weigh 4.8lbs and have a seven hour of battery life.
The THS3000 Series is believed as the first true high-performance handheld oscilloscope. It has the technical performance for analysis of low voltage analog and digital control signals.
Either 100MHz and 2.5GS/s maximum sampling rate or 200MHz and 5GS/s sample rate performance are available. There is a 10,000 point record length per each of four channels. Each channel on a THS3000 oscilloscope is separated from the chassis ground and from each other. The instrument setups and PC communication are also isolated. This enables the user to safely make floating measurements for voltages up to 300V(rms) CAT III when using the included 10X probes or 1000V(rms) CAT II with optional probes. The instrument has 600V(rms) CAT III rated inputs (BNC to earth ground) for safe high voltage measurements.
The device also features a built-in Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) function offering insight into to the frequency spectrum of a signal, revealing signal interference, crosstalk, or switching noise. The price is started at €3,750 and £3,180. All models will include four 10X passive probes, 7 hour battery, a three-year warranty and OpenChoice desktop software. A travel kit with a hard-sided carrying case is optional.
