According to the information, ROAL Electronics has introduced a new family of very efficient and compact Medical power supplies MDP400 series. It offers several package options including open frame, U-chassis, enclosed chassis, and environmentally sealed IP65 rated versions. Passed the criteria of Energy Star 5.0, the family can produce minimal heat facilitating outstanding thermal management in space constrained systems with exceptional reliability.
The MDP400 is available in three standard output voltages: 12, 24 and 48 Vdc, and includes auxiliary 12 Vdc and 5 Vdc standby outputs. The product dissipates <0.5 watts in standby mode, and the integral fan speed control minimizes audible noise while maximizing useful life. The MDP400 series also satisfy the safety standards of the UL/IEC60601-1 for medical equipment. The device also features low/no noise fan operation (fan is off <50W load), conduction cooling options, low leakage current and medical approvals, which make the MDP400 especially ideal for electro-medical equipment.
The MDP400 units are low profile and compact with open frame version dimensions of 3” x 6.46” x 1.48” (76mm x 164mm x 37mm). The packaging options allow all standard cooling methods including convection, forced air or conduction (baseplate) cooling across an operating temperature range of -20 to 70 C.
The products will be available in 24Volt and 48Volt models from stock in early 2012. OEM prices start at 90 euros per unit.
