Its products include the quartz crystals, crystal clock oscillators, silicon or MEMS clock oscillators, VCXOs, TCXOs, OCXOs and so on.
A range of high specification AT-cut crystals are released by IQD, which is designed for the specialist applications, such as military, radar and pagers. A range of down to 0.1ppm/year and 25°C frequency tolerance down to +/-3ppm is provided by this product. IQD declaims that the typical figures of the ordinary crystals is 3ppm/year aging and +/-10ppm frequency tolerance. 10-42MHz fundamental mode crystals are available, then 10-125MHz for 3rd overtone, and 70-175MHz for 5th overtone.
Due to the thinness of the blank, this is pushing the design limits of quartz crystals. The temperature stability will reduce to 4ppm over 0 to 70°C, and 12ppm over -40 to 85°C can be specified. When it comes to the industrial temperature range performance, there has been some controversy. Some manufacturers say that they can do 0ppm over -40 to 85°C, which is impossible. IQD has tested them and it does not meet this specification at low temperature.
Packages of the crystals can be UM1, HC49, HC43CW (TO8) and HC45CW. The ‘Q-factor’ of crystals should be high, which shows the quality of the crystal blank, its surface finish, how it is mounted, and how it is sealed into the package.
