Vishay Precision Group Inc, a designer, manufacturer and marketer of resistive foil technology products, has announced a new series of ultra-high-precision Bulk Metal Z1-Foil wraparound, surface-mount chip resistors with extended pads for high-temperature, high-power applications. This extended pad will enable the device to operate at temperatures as high as +225°C. In addition, the heat dissipation is optimized for working power to 1200 mW at +70°C and 330 mW at +200°C.
Upon VFR’s next-generation Z1-Foil technology, the FRSH series offer an order of degree reduction in the Bulk Metal Foil element’s sensitivity to temperature compared with the classical Foil in external and internal, at the same time, offering long stability in high-temperature conditions. FRSH provide TCR of ±1 ppm/°C from −55°C to +125°C and ±2.5 ppm/°C from −55°C to +200°C, +25°C ref. The resistors feature exceptional load-life stability to ±0.05% at +200°C for 2,000 hours, long stability to ±0.05% at +225°C for 2,000 hours, and tight tolerances to ±0.02%. With devices’ full wraparound terminations, it lowers the risk in the manufacturing and provides stability in multiple thermal cycling. In addition, the device can withstand electrostatic discharges at least to 25 kV without degradation.
Six chip sizes are available from 0603 to 2512. With wide resistance range from 10 Ω to 125 kΩ, any resistance value of the FRSH series within this range is available at any tolerance without extra cost or lead-time effect. The resistors feature a rise time of 1.0 ns, with effectively no ringing, a thermal stabilization time of <1 s (nominal value achieved within 10 ppm of steady state value), current noise of 0.01 µVrms per volt of applied voltage (<−40 dB), and a voltage coefficient of <0.1 ppm/V. The ROHS-compliant devices offer a non-inductive (<0.08 μH), non-capacitive design and are available in matched sets.
Key highlights of the devices include: (1)Extended pads for high power/high temperature applications up to +225 °C; (2)Load life stability of 0.05%; (3)TCR to ±1ppm/°C from ?55°C to +125°C; (4)TCR ±2.5 ppm/°C from ?55°C to +200°C, +25°C ref; (5)Offered in six chip sizes from 0603 to 2512; (6)Wide resistance range from 10 Ω to 125 kΩ; (7)Rise time of 1.0 ns; (8)Thermal stabilization time of <1 s; (9)Current noise of 0.01 ?Vrms per volt of applied voltage (<?40 dB); (10)Voltage coefficient of <0.1 ppm/V; (11)Non-inductive (<0.08 μH), non-capacitive design.
The price starts at $4.73 for America delivery. Samples and production quantities are available now, with lead times six weeks.
