The Power Conversion, Intelligent Motion (PCIM) Asia Conference will be held in Shanghai from June 21 to 23, 2011, at which the Fairchild Semiconductor will join experts from industry and academia in presenting papers on the latest developments and future trends in power electronics. PCIM Asia is regarded as one of the most important conference about power electronics in China. A wide range of aspects will be involved at this year’s conference, for example, power electronics components and systems as well as power converters, motor drives and motion control systems and power quality solutions.
The technical paper of Fairchild to be presented at PCIM Asia will include LED lighting, which include a novel single stage PFC technology that suitable for primary-side LED power regulation and a study and implementation of a high efficiency and precise constant control driver for LED applications; semiconductors, as a study of LED TV power architectures and evolution trends and implementing high efficiency using dual-switch quasi-resonant flyback for all-in-one PC power supply as well as a novel synchronous rectifier with "turn-on time":suggested methodology for series resonant converter and a new generation of smart power module devices for motor drive applications in home appliances are included; AC/DC converter refers to the introduction of bridgeless PFC and realization of a 2kW unit with semi-active control; advanced power semiconductors, by leading power technologies and power system expertise, Fairchild has appeared as one of the key enables in energy-saving electronics.
As an integrated multifunction data acquisition and control system, the DAQ-PACK Series from ACCES I/O Products Inc. Has been expanded. It will help to add portable, analog and digital I/O capabilities to any PC or embedded system with a USB port. It can perform signal conditioning like current inputs, RC filtering, bridge completion, RTD measurement, thermocouple break detection, small signal inputs, voltage dividers, and sensor excitation voltage supply.
A real-time internal calibration system allows the unit to compensate for offset/gain errors giving a more accurate reading. Additional features of this technology include two 16-bit analog outputs, 16 high-current digital I/O lines, and a programmable 16-bit counter, all packaged in a small, rugged, gold-zinc plated industrial enclosure.
The multifunction I/O DAQ-PACK units provide everything in need for acquiring, measuring, analyzing, and monitoring in various applications, which can be used in many current real-world applications such as precision measurement, analysis, monitoring, and control in countless embedded applications. Available accessories include a lot of cables and screw terminal boards for quick and easy-to-use, out of the box, connectivity. Also, a DIN rail mounting provision, and a gold-zinc mounting plate is available for panel mounting. Advanced calibration models include a real-time internal autocalibration system that allows the unit to compensate for offset/gain errors, giving a more accurate reading. A technique named as oversampling was offered to minimize the noise. The channel-by-channel programmable gain feature makes the measurement of an assortment of large and small signals in one scan-all under software control at up to 500kHz possible.
The board’s data buffer and ability to trigger the A/D in real time assures synchronized sampling unaffected by other computer operations which have an essential requirement for signal, vibration and transient analysis where high data rates must be sustained. The related integrated circuit is LA1810.
