NXP semiconductors recently announced its power supply solution proposal for the front row Green Chip products, which consumes energy that less than 10mW and is supposed to be the lowest among the whole industry. Green Chip power supply IC, also known as switching power controller IC is widely used in cellphone charger, adapter for mobile devices like tablet, and white goods.
The first products of this newest technology is the Green Chip SP TEA1721 with lower stand by consumption of less than 10mW. The optimization is designed for handset charger and home applications. These new-type integrated circuits with very low energy consumption are available for notebooks, tablets, NetBooks, and printers.
From smart phone to household appliances, the electronic industry are in urgent need for devices that provide lowest consumption as well as best quality. The emergence of the latest Green Chip controller indicated that NXP will stretch to other high-tech products with long-life battery and high efficiency except specialize in service for computers.
The capacity of Green Chip products range from 3W to hundreds Watts, which made them available for almost all the mobile devices and consumption facilities, and left the industry requirement far behind. As the core technology for low cost, highly-efficient IC, Green Chip technology turn to improve the energy efficiency and reduce the carbon emission. Their products can used for all the alternating current equipments and take advantage in lowest stand by energy consumption and being able to dim for CFL lamps.
The Green Chip TEA174X series IC are made for the phones, computers and appliances with tiny but efficient power supply, which consumes least and no sacrifice of the device itself. The next generation for computer are the Green Chip TEA173X and TEA1703. During the APEC 2011 on march 6 to 10 in Fort Worth, Texas, the next generation of Green Chips are posed at 509 booth and they will massively manufactured in the second quarter of 2011. The related integrated circuit is MB3756.
