The shipment of tablet PCs will be going up sharply, said the report from DisplaySearch, and it was predicted that the shipment will reach 55.7 million in 2011, which doubles the previous year. Despite tablet PCs is in the tardy growth during predication period, it can be predicted that the mobile PC market share will increase to 35% by 2014 contributed by laptop and mini netbook; the entire shipment of mobile PC will exceeds 5000 billion by 2014.
“In next few weeks, the advertising, introduction and display of new products will bring huge impact on the market and promote market segmentation of table PCs,” said the mobile PC analyst Richard Shim who is from DisplaySearch, “market segmentation will help to increase the shipment by a large margin in short or long term,” added by Richard.
Various sizes screens applied in many new facilities by 2011 will help to subdivide market. The success of iPad causes a fierce debate about the display format for tablet PC. The result of this debate helps to classify the patterns to promote market segmentation.
Great growth of tablet PC will shrink the market share of mini netbook and laptop in mobile PC market but it also depends on actual situation in various regions. In the market of maturity, namely in the places with high PC penetration rate, it remains outstanding problem that mini netbook and laptop being encroached by tablet PC while in emerging market, consumers are more likely to buy PCs with high configuration and great value to application, so the impact from tablet almost can be ignored.
There is no denying that the development of tablet PC pushes the entire mobile PC market ahead rapidly. The shipment of mobile PC is expected to keep two-digital growth and will reach the peak by 2011, which is 30.4% increase over the same period of previous year. The related integrated circuit is 23K640.
