In order to meet the demand of business and help the IT department to provide the corporations more service and value, the Intel Company has made the optimizing methods. The new strategies have given up the method to reduce the device of data center, developing the potential of the data center all over the world. These methods are helpful to improve the business value of the entire data center infrastructure. It is estimated that this new method will save one thousand million for the Intel Company, so it is worth of spreading. I will describe this method in detail in the blow part.
First is to update the server, which is the focal point of this strategy. The service life of the server is about four years, but some companies continue to use these devices. Actually, the TCO is increased, and the efficiency will be low because the device is aging; meanwhile, the cost for maintenance is very high. The optimization is for the high-performance server. The updating is taken when the device is broken.
Second is the utilization rate. The virtualization plays an important role in this respect. The design calculation was always relied on the server of data center in the past days. In order to meet the increasing demand of computing ability, the team needs to add enough capacity. Some local servers are not fully used when the utilization rate do not reach the peak. The wasted source is so much all over the world. The team is able to use the server of the remote data center by the virtualization of data center, so this problem is solved.
Last is to improve the efficiency which is related to the power consumption, heat radiation, space and the load of floor. The computing ability will be influenced if these elements are not in balance. There are two methods to solve this problem, first is to apply the new technique of modularization design; second is to use the data center with high density.
